UPDATED: It's time for city wide cleanup! There will be a dumpster available on the south side of the Park. You may dispose of trash August 17th-August 23rd. Here is a complete list of items not allowed.

Cheryl Wallace made a motion to approve the agenda, Phyliss Aldrich seconded. Motion carried 3/0.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LACLEDE, MISSOURI, VACATING AND DISCONTINUING CERTAIN STREETS was read twice. . All of West Avenue, and Ausmus Street between Lot 1 of Block 11 and Lot 12 of Block 8, of the City of Laclede, Linn County, Missouri. Cheryl Wallace made a motion to approve the ordinance, Jesse Evans seconded. Motion carried 3/0.

AN ORDINANCE REMAINING A PART OF AUSMUS STREET TO BE NAMED AS PERSHING WAY, was read twice. This was started in July 2023 but not completed. Phyliss Aldrich made a motion to approve the ordinance, Cheryl Wallace seconded. Motion carried 3/0.

Phyllis Aldrich made a motion to adjourn at 7:10, Jesse Evans seconded. Motion carried 3/0.

Phyliss Aldrich approved the treasurer’s report with the exception of checking on Heather Glass’s rent and payroll expense. Cheryl Wallace Seconded. Motion carried 4/0

Clerk’s Report
Brenda requested vacation June 15th-June19th. The office will closed for the week. Messages will be left on the phone, facebook, and the door letting citizens know.
Phyllis Aldrich made a motion to approve the vacation and Cheryl Wallace seconded. Motion carried 4/0.

Cemetery Sexton Report
Kalobb Lute plans to set the sign in the cemetery this weekend, June 12-13, 2026.
Flags went out on Memorial day with the help of the 4-H.

City Commissioner-
Waiting on quote from Bill Christiansen on finishing Lift Station clean up.
Kale has been working on the streets. Out of cold patch and gravel, will need more to continue street work.

Cheryl Wallace made a motion to close the open meeting and Phyliss Aldrich seconded. Motion carried 4/0.

Mayor’s Report
There has been an anonymous donor volunteer willing to donate $500 for more gravel to be put in the cemetery. Would the board be willing to match that?

Water Tower Painting-Tabled until we get a date on the wrap for the water tower.

Ordinance for non-elected board members-Jesse Evans made a motion to approve the ordinance. Phyllis Aldrich seconded. Motion tied. Motion carried 3/2, with the mayor breaking the tie.
Resolution of unclaimed Utility Deposits-Cheryl Wallace made a motion to accept the resolution, Phyllis Aldrich seconded. Motion carried 4/0.
The CD for the meter deposits needs to be moved to a checking account. Cheryl Wallace made a motion to move the CD for meter deposits to a checking account. Jesse seconded. Motion carried 4/0.
Appoint Mayor Pro-Tem-Joe Ortiz nominated Jesse Evans for Mayor Pro Tem, Cheryl Wallace seconded. Motion carried 4/0.

Brad Christiansen to give us a quote on doing the bypass for the pump. And he needs to go ahead and do the clean out for the pump also.

Park Bench’s- get a couple of benches to replace the ones that are really old.
Cemetery Sign-needs to be put back up.
Limbs hanging over the streets-table

Bob Dimmitt will supply all chemical to spray the grass, weeds, and trees along his property.

City Business
Playground Equipment-Need new swings and slide. Cindy checking on for next meeting.

Farmer’s Electric is increasing cost by 4.8%.
MRWA Voluntary Legislative Assessment
-$175.00 fee-call to see if surrounding towns paid.
Linn Co. Historical Society
-$20.00 membership fee or donation-as a city we cannot pay the fee.

COMMISSIONER
Need to order heavy duty flag for the Cemetery
Street signs-Prairie/Pleasant, and Flora/Hwy 5 need fixed

Water Tower Painting Bids-we have received 3 bids-I will get a cost for the painting of the Rocket vs the wrap.
Ed Evans made a motion to table the water tower bids until next meeting and see what the cost to paint the rocket vs a wrap would be.
New Trees/DNR Grant-Cindy working on this
Water Policy/ Certified Backup Operator-Tyler Wattenbarger decided against taking this. Shorty Davis from Linneus Water Department will be the backup. Shorty will bring his paperwork to post in our office.
Campers/Tiny Homes/Ordinance-Continued
Deposit History/Resolution for deposits-Ed Evans made a motion to get a new resolution for next meeting, that will be posted and read twice and adopted. Cheryl Wallace seconded. Motion carried 3/0.

GFL Increase-GFL has raised our cost 3% for the last 3 years, with another raise coming in June. Discussion on raising the cost. How many don’t use the trash service?

Election Results-New and returning members were sworn in: Cindy Ludington, Mayor, Jesse Evans, Alderman, Phylis Aldrich.

Bank account regarding deposits-Tabled

More clean up needs to be done around the lift station. Jesse made a motion to have Brad Christensen do the work. Cheryl Wallace seconded. Motion carried 3/0.
