A strong future requires a solid foundation. 🏛️✨

At the Gen. John J. Pershing Boyhood Home State Historic Site, we are literally building from the ground up. The process of lifting a historic home and pouring a modern concrete foundation is a massive undertaking, but a vital one for long-term structural integrity.

By replacing the failing original footings with modern reinforced concrete, the legacy of Gen. Pershing remains accessible to the public for generations to come. 🇺🇸

Gen. John J. Pershing dedicated his life to a foundation of duty, honor and service. Today, we’re making sure the home that shaped him stands just as firm.

The critical foundation repairs at the Gen. John J. Pershing Boyhood Home State Historic Site have begun! While the home is closed for tours during the repair process, guests can still visit the museum.

History is only as strong as the ground it stands on. 🧱

It's not every day you see this!

If you've driven past the site lately, you may have done a double-take. It's not often you see a piece of 19th-century history sitting on top of modern construction equipment!

We're currently undergoing some major foundation repairs. We aren't moving the house from its historic location—we’re just giving it a brand-new "backbone" so it can stand tall for another 150 years.
