Bayou Lacombe Republican Women

Bayou Lacombe Republican Women We have a long history in St. We are a small club in terms of numbers but we accomplish a great deal for the community.

Tammany Parish as our club was the first Republican Women’s Club, established in the Parish in 1963, and officially became part of the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women in 1966. Membership does not mean that one is expected to commit major time but we are involved in supporting Republican candidates, keeping members informed as to what is occurring on the political scene, as well as contrib

uting to the welfare and education of the children and citizens of Lacombe and this area. Our Club meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month, not in June and July, at 12:30 Social/Refreshments and Speaker/Meeting at 1:00,(except on the third Tuesday in November) at the VFW Davis Moran Post 8290, 28000 Main St., Lacombe, LA, 70445.

The Bayou Lacombe Republican Women held their August meeting with candidates Ben Clayton and Angelina Valuri seeking judge positions in Division G as speakers. We also welcomed Parish Councilman Joe Impastato, Annie Perkins, Parish Director of Finance and Mary Burkell, Parish Council Administrator who gave us an exceptional and informative presentation on the proposed sales tax initiative. The Summer Vibes theme arranged by our hostesses, Amanda Nohra and Paige Elizabeth Stuart was delightful!

The Bayou Lacombe Republican Women were pleased to have excellent speakers for the April meeting! Julie Emerson, Chief of Staff for Gov. Landry and a former State Representative who authored 2 of the amendments, gave us important information about the 5 Amendments on the May 16 ballot. ( Early voting begins the 2nd). After her detailed explanation of these amendments, we should vote yes for them. Judge Billy Burris who is a candidate for LA Supreme Court, enlightened us with his background and accomplishments. When asked about some of the very negative comments against him by his opponent, he was very able to set the record straight and explain the false narrative!
