🌊 May is Water Safety Month 🌊

As temperatures rise and more families head to pools, lakes, rivers, and beaches, the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office encourages everyone to make water safety a priority.

🚨 Drowning can happen quickly and silently, but many tragedies are preventable.
Here are a few important reminders:
âś… Never leave children unattended near water
✅ Designate a “Water Watcher” when swimming
âś… Wear properly fitted life jackets while boating or enjoying open water
âś… Avoid alcohol while swimming or operating watercraft
âś… Learn CPR and basic water rescue skills
âś… Teach children to swim early and educate them about water hazards

đź’™ Whether you are enjoying time at the pool, on the lake, or along the Gulf Coast, taking simple precautions can save lives.

We were honored to host a memorial service paying tribute to the lives of unclaimed and indigent individuals in our community.

This gathering provided a meaningful opportunity to offer dignity, remembrance, and compassion to those who may not have had loved ones present to celebrate their lives. Together, we ensured they are not forgotten through a quiet time of reflection, respect, and unity.

Following the service, floral arrangements were respectfully donated to the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery as a continued gesture of honor and remembrance.

We are grateful to our community for standing with us in preserving dignity for every life remembered.
