Last not least, today's shout out goes to our Paramedics and years of service. Fun fact all of our medics here have started as basics and made the commitment of furthering their education here at our service!

Our Paramedics can provide advanced life support (ALS) interventions, including advanced airway management, cardiac monitoring/interpretation (12-lead ECG), defibrillation, cardioversion, and transcutaneous pacing.
​Initiate intravenous (IV) and intraosseous (IO) access, and administer emergency medications and so much more! 💊💉🩺

​Your role goes far beyond answering a call. You are the critical link between crisis and care. Operating in high-stress, unpredictable environments, you bring calm to chaos, precision to emergencies, and advanced clinical expertise right to the doorsteps of those who need it most!

As we kick off EMS week 2026 we want to say thank you to all of our first responders. From our volunteers who selflessly give their time to OSF Life Flight who meet us on scene during crucial time dependant calls, we all are one team and cannot do this job with out one another.

The job is taxing on mental health, low pay and not nationally recognized as essential services, but the pay off in helping just one person is more valuable than any dollar amount.

Thank you to all of our first responders with out you we wouldn't have this great service! Happy EMS week to all!!

Our sincere condolences go out to Bob's family, friends and colleagues. Bob was a wonderful person and many of us here had the opportunity to work with him as a Marshall County Officer in years past. He will be greatly missed. 🪽🙏🚓
