🚨 **SCAM ALERT — DON'T LET SOMEONE PRESSURE YOU!**

Scammers are getting pretty good at making their calls, texts, and emails sound legitimate.

One thing to remember: If someone contacts you demanding immediate payment, asking for gift cards, or threatening you with arrest unless you send money, that's a major red flag.

Don't be afraid to hang up, take a minute, and verify who you're actually talking to.

And remember, just because your caller ID shows a familiar number doesn't mean the call is legitimate.

The Marshall County Highway Department will be closing County Road 00 N at the intersection of County Road 2100 E. Tomorrow morning 10/02 at 7:30 am to do a one day emergency culvert replacement.

llinois 117 in Toluca to close Oct. 4
One-day closure for railroad repairs
TOLUCA – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced a one-day closure of Illinois 117 at the BNSF Railway crossing in Toluca on Oct. 4.
The closure is necessary for the railroad to make repairs to the crossing. A detour will be posted.

*** 10/03 Update detour signs are down road is open***

BNSF Railroad is repairing two crossings south of Lacon. One is on Rt. 26 and another is on Woodford Road. These crossings are scheduled to be closed until Friday October 2nd. There are detours set up in both directions that will direct you to Rt. 89 in the Washburn area. Please allow extra time or avoid Rt. 26 until Friday. We will post any updates when available.

It is a beautiful evening to be at Waterworks Park for National Night Out sponsored by Henry PD. There is still plenty of time to get over for the law enforcement demonstrations and to see what the social services in our community have to offer. We will be here until 8pm.
