🐾💙 Support Hope & Our Therapy Dog Program 💙🐾

The Ladd Police Department is proud to bring our therapy dog program to life with Hope, but this is something important for our community to know:

👉 This program is funded entirely through business and community donations. There are no traditional department funds used, this program exists because of the generosity and support of people like you. Your funds will help pay for Hope, along with such things as food, veterinary checkups and any future medical issues, health insurance, toys, training, as well as items for community outreach, allowing Hope to connect with and support those we serve.

Every dollar goes toward ensuring Hope can continue her mission of bringing comfort, support, and a positive presence to our community.

Hope will provide comfort during difficult situations, support victims (especially children), assist first responders, and help strengthen the connection between our department and the community. This kind of impact is only possible with your help.

🐾💙 Please Welcome HOPE! 💙🐾

The Ladd Police Department is excited to introduce Hope, our newest team member! At just 5 months old, this Lab Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix is already hard at work becoming a therapy dog.

What is Hope’s role?
Hope is here to provide comfort, support, and a calming presence during difficult or stressful situations. She may assist on certain calls involving trauma, help comfort victims, especially children, and even support our first responders during challenging incidents. Most importantly, Hope will help strengthen the connection between our department and the community.

You’ll see Hope out and about during community events, on select calls, and around town with her handler.

🐶 If you see Hope, please remember:
• Always ask the handler for permission before approaching or petting
• Stay calm and gentle no sudden movements or loud noises

Hope is here. Hope is ready. And we can’t wait for you to meet her! 💙

☘️ St. Patrick’s Day Safety Reminder ☘️

As St. Patrick’s Day approaches, the Ladd Police Department would like to remind everyone to celebrate responsibly. Officers will be conducting increased traffic enforcement around the holiday to help keep our roads and community safe.

If you plan on celebrating, please make responsible choices:
• Never drive impaired by alcohol, cannabis, or other drugs
• Plan ahead for a sober ride home
• Always wear your seat belt

If you see a suspected impaired driver, please call 911 and report it. Let’s work together to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable St. Patrick’s Day.

Remember — it’s not about luck, it’s about making smart decisions.

⚠️ Weather Alert ⚠️

Residents of Ladd and surrounding areas should prepare for inclement weather expected to move into the area tonight. Forecasts indicate the potential for strong storms with heavy rain, damaging winds, and the possibility of tornadoes as the system moves through the region.

🌩️ What you can do now:
• Secure outdoor items that could blow away
• Charge phones and electronic devices
• Review your tornado safety plan and know where your safe place is
• Avoid unnecessary travel if storms are active
• Stay tuned to local weather alerts and warnings

🌪️ If a tornado warning is issued:
Take shelter immediately in a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building, away from windows.

Please use caution if you must be out tonight and check in on neighbors who may need assistance. We will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as they become available.

Storms are starting to develop in Illinois. The expectation is for these to grow and become strong to even severe. The main risk north of the warm front (just south of I-80) is for damaging winds and hail. South of the boundary: all severe hazards are possible, including strong tornadoes.

🌷 Spring Community Reminder – Village of Ladd & Ladd Police Dept🌷

As we head into spring, the Ladd Police Department will be addressing property maintenance, w**d control, parking, and abandoned vehicle ordinances throughout the village.

Our goal is simple: keeping Ladd clean, safe, and looking its best for everyone. We’re asking all residents to please review the attached notice and make sure properties are in compliance.

This is a friendly reminder to take care of any concerns now. If violations are not corrected after notice, fines may be issued in accordance with village ordinances.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and community pride. If you have questions, please contact Village Hall or the Ladd Police Department.
