Dear Village of Ladd Candidate:
As we prepare for the upcoming Consolidated Election on April 6th, 2027, please keep in mind the following dates.
Petition forms may not be circulated for signatures before August 25th, 2026.
November 16th, 2026-November 23rd, 2026 is the filing period for all established party and independent candidates.
Minimum Amount of Signatures: 11
Maximum Amount of Signatures: 61
Papers which must be filed during the filing period include:
Statement of Candidacy
Loyalty Oath
Economic Interest Statement
Nominating Petitions
All of these forms are enclosed in this packet
A notice of obligation has also been enclosed in this packet. Please review this notice for questions on compliance with the Illinois Campaign Financing Act.
Candidate requirements vary from office to office. Please refer to the Illinois State Board of Elections website for the link for the 2027 Candidate’s Guide for the requirements.
All paperwork that needs notarized must be notarized prior to filing the paperwork. You are able to come in prior to the filing period and have your paperwork notarized, so it is done and ready for officially filing. You will need to file your paperwork with the Village Clerk. You may file your petitions in person or send it in by mail so that the petitions are received sometime during the filing period.
