The Ladd Public Library is hosting a program titled "Two Small Suitcases" on Saturday, September 12th at 11:00 AM.

Children and adults alike are invited to attend Maria Balestri's presentation, which will be followed by a Q&A session. Set against the backdrop of the Cold War, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and Fidel Castro's Communist regime, the presentation shares the journey of Maria and her family from Cuba to America.

Maria's children's book, "Two Small Suitcases," is currently available at the Ladd Public Library. It follows the true story of two sisters departing Communist Cuba as part of Operation Peter Pan. The book will be available for purchase and signing at the event, and is also available on Amazon.com.

There is no charge for this program. Walk-ins are welcome, but you can reserve your seat by visiting or calling the Ladd Public Library at 815-894-3254.

The Ladd Public Library is seeking two dedicated community members to serve on our Board of Trustees.
• Role: Help make a difference in your community, shape library policy and programs, advocate for public services and share your skills and perspective.
• Requirements: Must be a legal resident of the Ladd Public Library District.

The Ladd Public Library is hosting a Painting Party with Lucy Schmidt ( Painting Parties By Lucy ) on Monday, September 14th at 6pm featuring the painting titled "Autumn Harvest Glow"!

Join us at the library for an evening of painting fun! All are welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks in covered glasses! The cost is $30 per person (includes a $5 donation to the library). Seating is limited.

💥 Don't Miss Our Active Stretch Classes With Teresa Colmone On Mondays At 2:00pm! 💥

The Ladd Public Library is hosting Active Stretch Classes With Teresa Colmone in August on the 17th, 24th and 31st (Mondays) at 2pm!

Join us at the library for 30 minute active stretch classes suitable for all experience levels. Wear comfortable clothing, bring a towel, mat or small blanket for cushioning and a drink in a covered glass for hydrating.

Sign up for one, a few or all as fits your schedule. The cost of each class is $5 per person. Seating is limited.

Our first week resuming the Children's Story Hour featured the books "Silly Suzy Goose" by Pete Horacek and "Duck at the Door by Jackie Urbanovic as read by Miss Jan.

Our Children's Story Hour, which does not require registration, meets on Tuesday mornings at 10am.
