Clark, a former Wisconsin state legislator, forester and business owner from Bayfield, told WPR he wants to to be part of a “new Democratic Party” connecting and representing working people.

Clark said Congress needs to stand up to President Trump, and does not support the president’s actions on tariffs, foreign policy or environmental issues. - WPR

Time to get off our asses and start campaigning. The Democratic Party overall doesn't even have their eyes on Wisconsin's 7th CD as a possible win. Looks like we are on our own. At least we know where we stand. Again, time to get off our asses and start campaigning.

I have been canvassing a couple hours per week. The main things I am finding are that:
1. The list showing where people live is about 20% wrong, maybe more.
2. The people when you do talk to them, both on the list and off the list are VERY disconnected with what is going on in the country.

'Well, around here, things are still pretty OK.'
'I don't pay much attention to the news.'
'I don't spend much time on Social Media.'

Another statement that is almost universal: 'I vote for the person, not the party.'

These are all quite common statements that come out of people's mouths.

My sample size is VERY small. I canvassed for 2 hours yesterday and talked to 7 people. I have been canvassing about 2 hours per week for about 5 out of approximately the last 8 weeks.

Here are what I take from the above. You should take this with a HUGE grain of salt. I am not a trained surveyor though I have done surveys in the past. I am most definitely not a trained statistician though I have been known to crunch some numbers in order to figure stuff out:

1. People are not nearly as likely as they were in the past to claim to be maga.
2. People are VERY disconnected and dare I say it, apathetic.

So... What's to be done?

Watch this space or the Steven Veedle Substack https://obviousstuff.substack.com/ for where this is leading us. Heck, you can even get a free subscription to my substack page.
