Last evening, members of the Whitemarsh Township Police Department proudly attended the graduation ceremony for our newest police officers following their successful completion of recruit training at the Montgomery County Police Academy, Class #2601.
The Municipal Police Academy is a rigorous, state-certified Act 120 training program requiring cadets to complete a 919-hour curriculum, maintain 100% attendance, and successfully pass 26 written examinations. The approximately six-month program includes intensive instruction Monday through Friday, along with additional Sunday fi****ms training sessions.
Training includes:
• 84 hours of physical and emotional readiness
• 66 hours of defensive tactics
• 124 hours of fi****ms training
• Emergency response and critical incident preparedness
• Extensive legal, investigative, and patrol-related instruction
