🐾 FOUND DOG – CATHERINE DRIVE 🐾

Whitemarsh Township Police have located a lost dog that is currently contained at a residence in the unit block of Catherine Drive.

The dog is not wearing a collar, and officers are currently unable to safely approach it to transport it to the police station and check for a microchip.

If you recognize this dog or know its owner, please contact the Whitemarsh Township Police Department at 610-825-6530 for the exact location.

The Whitemarsh Township Police Department is attempting to identify a nurse who stopped and assisted with lifesaving measures during a medical emergency near Skippack Pike and Butler Pike on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at approximately 3:45 p.m.

Applications are now open for the Whitemarsh Township Police Department’s 2026 Citizens Police Academy!
Join us for seven consecutive Monday evenings and get a behind-the-scenes look at your police department. Participants will learn about patrol operations, criminal investigations, fi****ms and use of force, SWAT, K-9, traffic safety, DUI enforcement, specialty units and more.

💵 No cost to attend
Applicants must be Whitemarsh Township residents and at least 18 years old. A valid driver’s license is required, and applicants may be subject to a background check.

On Tuesday, August 4, the Pennsylvania National Guard along with the Pennsylvania Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team (H.A.R.T.) and the Conshohocken Fire Department, will conduct a readiness exercise along the river and at the helipad.

During the exercise, you may observe a military helicopter in the area, flying low over the Schuylkill River and landing at the Helipad. Conshohocken emergency personnel and other local responders will be in the area to help promote a safe exercise.

Please understand that this may briefly impact the walking path in that area.

Drills like this help our local responders prepare and respond to water emergencies in and around our region and work seamlessly with state resources.

The PA-HART is a joint partnership between the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and the PA Emergency Management Agency, along with credentialed civilian rescue technicians.

Officers from the Whitemarsh Township Police Department were honored to participate in Variety – the Children's Charity of the Delaware Valley's Community/First Responders Day.

This event provides a wonderful opportunity for children and young adults to meet the police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and other first responders who are dedicated to serving and protecting our communities.

A heartfelt thank you to Variety for inviting us to be part of such an incredible day, and to all of the first responders and volunteers who generously gave their time, compassion, and enthusiasm. Seeing the smiles, excitement, and curiosity from the campers is a reminder of why community engagement is such an important part of what we do.

We were proud to bring one of our patrol vehicles, our K-9 vehicle, and spend time talking with the campers, answering questions, and sharing what it's like to serve our community.

Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of such a meaningful day. We are already looking forward to next year!

🐾 FOUND DOG 🐾

FOUND: July 20, 2026, at approximately 9:29 PM

The Whitemarsh Township Police Department responded to the 800 block of Stenton Avenue for a report of a loose dog on the highway.

This small dog is safe and currently being cared for at the Whitemarsh Township Police Department while we attempt to locate its owner.

If you recognize this dog or believe it belongs to you, please contact the Whitemarsh Township Police Department at 610-825-6530.

Please be prepared to provide proof of ownership (photos, veterinary records, or other identifying information) when claiming the dog.

Attention Whitemarsh Township Residents:

The National Weather Service has issued a forecast highlighting the potential for severe thunderstorms affecting Whitemarsh Township and the greater Philadelphia area today. Storms may produce damaging wind gusts, torrential rainfall, frequent lightning, localized flash flooding, hail, and an isolated tornado. Residents should remain weather aware and be prepared to take immediate action if watches or warnings are issued.

Whitemarsh Township Office of Emergency Management will be monitoring the storms as they move through our area.
