Cleaner air starts at home.

Through the City’s HEPA Air Purifier Program, 85 residents received HEPA air purifiers to help improve indoor air quality during wildfire smoke events and poor air quality days.

The Sustainability Department and Lafayette CO Fire Department teamed up to deliver purifiers directly to residents. Thank you to everyone who participated, including the four-legged family members.

Together, we’re creating a healthier, safer, and more resilient community.

Peak to Peak Charter School’s Character Club stopped by the station yesterday, and we loved the chance to connect! This student group focuses on building positive character and planning events at their school, so it made for a great conversation about the shared values that guide both their work and ours. Wet, heavy snow is expected late Tuesday into Wednesday and may impact roads, tree limbs, and power lines.

Please take a few simple steps to prepare:

-Bring in or secure outdoor furniture and loose items
-Try not to park under tree branches
-Give yourself extra time if you need to drive Wednesday morning
-Be careful when shoveling, and take breaks
-Stay away from downed power lines and report them right away

Please plan ahead, drive carefully, secure outdoor items, and take breaks when shoveling. Stay weather-aware before you travel.
