Happy fall, y'all! Just kidding, It's WAY too hot right now, but here's to hoping for sweater weather and pumpkin spice as the month continues. Why not beat the heat and come join us at one of our MANY GLDSA events this September? We've got a lot on our calendar, so please don't hesitate to stop by and see how Democratic Socialism can help your community!

OUTFest 2026 is a wrap! Some of us at the GLDSA decided to embrace the heat and set up shop at the event. We had the absolute joy and pleasure to meet SO MANY kind and beautiful people! We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who stopped and chatted with us -- what an absolute blast!

Attention Greater Lafayette comrades, join us on Tuesday, August 18 for the STOP FLOCK! PROTEST from 5 - 6 p.m.

Bring a sign and demonstrate on public property near any of the dozens of Flock cameras tracking us on Tippecanoe streets. Draw attention to the issue of mass surveillance!

If you're interested in learning how to stop the spread of fascism in your communities, stop by our DSA 101 training on August 19 to learn more about what Democratic Socialism is and how groups like the GLDSA help make your community a better and safer place. Huge news everyone, this month's social is at Digby's! Ever been curious about DSA but the monthly general meetings are a bit too intimidating? No worries! Join us this Friday the 14 starting at 7 p.m. at this month's social, bring a friend, and meet the faces behind the GLDSA. Learn about how Democratic Socialism can help your community, and grab some great grub while you're at it.

The GLDSA joined other local organizations in solidarity with APWU to protest against defunding the postal service and for protecting voting by mail. Remember, the GLDSA is here to support the working class and to help organize with groups who's ideals are centered on democracy, cooperation, and transformative justice.
