Congratulations to Eli, Cohl, and Oliver on this recognition. Great job guys!

Today, we presented Meritorious Service Awards to 17 first responders for their work responding to a cardiac arrest at Festival International de Louisiane in April!

A 70 year-old-woman went into cardiac arrest while attending the festival, but these first responders quickly jumped in to administer CPR and restart her heart. Because of their quick intervention, she regained consciousness within minutes and was discharged from the hospital several days later with no complications.

The award recipients were Sara Leger & Dominique Morgan with the Lafayette Police Department; Trent Boullion, Monrell Broussard, Francisco Lopez, & Payton Savoy with the Lafayette Fire Department; Acadian Explorers Eli Anderson, Cohl DeRoussel, & Oliver Perry; and Christine Bourgeois, Paul Brasseaux, Raquel Gautreaux, Jayden Horky, Garrett Kent, Paul Martin, Joseph Pfalzgraf, & Gavin Thibodeaux with Acadian Ambulance.

We are so proud of these individuals’ lifesaving teamwork!

Our Hub City Explorers along with the Capital District Explorers have been working hard providing first aid and medical care to festival goers all weekend at Festival International! what a great experience!🚑

Our Hub City Explorers are the best!🚑

Our Hub City Acadian Explorers recently received a heartwarming compliment following their standby support at the Scott Boudin Festival.

A vendor at the festival shared that she saw the Acadian medics and Explorers approaching a patient under a tent. "You could see how serious they take being an Explorer and representing Acadian Ambulance," she shared.

"From the first interaction until they left with the patient, these young adults showed professionalism and knowledge in handling the situation. These young adults will be amazing medics in the near future: to show professionalism, medical knowledge and compassion in someone's time of need - They never wavered, took the situation seriously and are mature for their age."
