🌟 New Board Member Spotlight: Mariela Santos Secretary

Meet Mariela Santos, LCWE’s newly elected Secretary and a dedicated community advocate who is passionate about supporting local families and creating opportunities that make a lasting difference! ✨

🌎 From Jalisco to Lafayette: Mariela was born in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, Mexico, and grew up in Lafayette, Indiana. Now raising her own children here, she has a deep appreciation for the community and everything it has provided for her family.

🏡 Helping Families Achieve Their Dreams: Mariela works at Security Federal Savings Bank as a Mortgage Loan Originator, helping individuals and families navigate the path toward homeownership.

💡 Why LCWE? Growing up in this community inspired Mariela to give back to the place that has given so much to her and her family. She became involved to help strengthen the community, support local families, and create opportunities that can have a lasting impact.

❤️ Favorite Part of Serving: Mariela enjoys collaborating with LCWE’s talented board members, brainstorming ways to better serve the community, and connecting with local leaders and families.

🌎 Connecting with our Spanish-speaking community 🚌

CityBus is proud to host a Spanish Public Meeting on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Mama Inés.

As we prepare for upcoming route changes, we want to make sure our Spanish-speaking riders and community members have the opportunity to learn about these updates, ask questions, and better understand how these changes may impact their transportation needs.

This meeting is an important opportunity for CityBus to listen, share information, and continue strengthening our connection with the communities we serve.
