A Little Extra Can Make a Big Difference. 🧡

We are excited to share that Macy's Tippecanoe Mall has selected YWCA Greater Lafayette as the beneficiary of its Local Charities Volunteer Round Up Program!

From September 15th through October 15th, shoppers at Macy’s Tippecanoe Mall will have the opportunity to round their purchase up to the nearest dollar, donating up to 99¢ to YWCA Greater Lafayette.

It may be just a few extra cents at checkout, but when a community comes together, those small gifts can add up to make a big difference. Your round-up donations will help support YWCA Greater Lafayette programs and services that provide safety, health, stability, and opportunity for individuals and families throughout our community.

This August, in celebration of National Black Owned Business Month, we shine a spotlight on Aulo, a self-care sanctuary in Downtown Newark, New Jersey. Participating in YWCA Northern New Jersey’s WE360°, Aulo got to showcase and expand their self-care related services from facials, waxing and nail care in their community.

Dolly Parton’s legacy is about more than music; it is about empowering women, investing in communities, and lifting others up. 🧡

As a female entrepreneur and philanthropist, Dolly used her success to create opportunities for others. She reportedly earned about $10 million in royalties from Whitney Houston’s version of “I Will Always Love You” and used those earnings to purchase and invest in an office complex and strip mall in a predominantly Black Nashville neighborhood. She placed her own offices there and called it “The House That Whitney Built.”

Many of you may notice that the large tree in front of YWCA Greater Lafayette Patricia and W. Kelley Carr Advocacy Center at 624 N. Sixth Street, Lafayette, IN 47901 is no longer there.

After a storm caused significant damage and the tree lost a large section, an arborist determined that it needed to be removed. The tree had also begun causing damage to our building.

We will miss this big, beautiful tree. It was originally planted many years ago by longtime YWCA Greater Lafayette donor Sally Watlington.

- Fabric softener
- Dryer sheets
Cleaning products

- Bleach

Today we are spotlighting the Devine Empowerment Program that came out of YWCA National Capital Area a WE360° program. Devine Power was created for young women to introduce them to career opportunities while also teaching soft skills to prepare them for the future. They offer workshops for entrepreneurship, emotional intelligence, professionalism, financial literacy, hair esthetics, life planning, vision and sisterhood.
