Their team works year-round to help protect and improve the Vermilion River — from removing trash and debris to providing environmental education throughout our community. 💧🌱

Come meet the Bayou Vermilion District team at the festival, learn more about the work they’re doing right here in our community, and find out how you can get involved!

Come have lunch and see our Living Bayou exhibit this week!

Annnnd here we go again! Another week to come have lunch with us at La Cuisine de Maman in Vermilionville. Plate lunches are delicious -- peep Wednesday, Meatball Stew (Al Hebert I'm talking to you!) They all come with entree, a homemade buttermilk biscuit, cup of gumbo or side salad, side veggie, dessert (don't pass up our stellar bread pudding) and a beverage, $14.95, Seafood Friday, $15.95. Sunday's buffet -- two entrees, loads of sides, gumbo, salad, biscuits, dessert, beverage, all you can eat, $17.95. So yeah, come have lunch with us this week! ✔️

The Living Bayou Exhibit is open -- thank you to our partners, Friends of the Bayou Vermilion, represented by Brandon Champagne, Stephen Broussard, Executive Director of BVD, Karen Hail, BVD Commission President, Amanda Blanchard of Teche-Vermilion Fresh Water District, and Kent Labry of LUS. This exhibit is supported by an Atchafalaya Wild Grant from the Atchafalaya National Heritage Foundation. Come see it, along with the photo exhibit of the flooding now in our lobby. Thanks as well to everyone who has shared their photos and stories, and KATC TV 3 who provided us with video footage of the catastrophic event.

LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — Vermilionville will host a free Acadian Culture Day featuring Cajun and Acadian music, dancing, French-language activities, a tintamarre, and a film screening and question-and-answer session.

Congratulations to our 2026 Acadian Cultural Preservation award recipient, Kyle Crosby! He is a Louisiana filmmaker, historian, and creator of Louisiana Dread, a digital history platform dedicated to preserving and sharing the state’s culture, history, folklore, and heritage. Through documentaries, educational videos, and public speaking, he has introduced hundreds of thousands of people to Louisiana’s stories.
We'll present the award to Kyle at noon on Acadian Culture Day, August9. Be there!
