In two weeks, we'll be at for Rise in Solidarity, a collaborative event bringing representatives from local rapid response and mutual aid networks into conversation and community with folks who are ready to get more deeply involved with the movement.

Featuring:
🎥 A screening of the short documentary, Shouldering Sanctuary
🍛 A potluck with chips and salsa from Teocalli and yummy dishes from your new friends (be prepared to take some home with you!)
✍️ A zine-making workshop upstairs
🎶 A dance party with DJ Disco Witch

We are humbled and honored to share the documentary film, Si Pudiera Quedarme as part of our Justice Film Series!

Si Pudiera Quedarme / If I Could Stay is a heart-wrenching and inspiring story of two undocumented Latinx mothers, Jeanette and Ingrid, who courageously enter local churches to evade deportation and protect their families.

Community conversation afterward will feature local facilitators, and BSURJ is proud to provide simultaneous English/Spanish interpretation.

We also take the security of our participants very seriously and have taken precautions to ensure that all community members, especially those most marginalized, can access our events without fear.

Gather at vigil tonight, March 18 from 6-8PM at GEO (3130 Oakland St, Aurora). We have confirmation that Jeanette is STILL at GEO. 

Additionally, the family asks to share the petition and fundraiser, and to join the action at Auraria tomorrow March 19 at 3:30 protesting Mahmoud Khalil’s detention that will also serve as a rally for Jeanette.

Colorado civil rights activist, Jeanette Vizguerra, has been detained by ICE at the GEO Center in Aurora.

Her detention is irregular and illegal. The family is asking for citizen allies to show up at ICE GEO Center now (March 17 at 11PM) to support. Bring candles, water, and your support!
