When a Pre-K student at LCA was having a hard time calming down, Deputy Briscoe got down on the floor, laid beside him, and helped him through the moment.

No cameras. No posing. Just patience, compassion, and being there when a student needed him.

Join Marshal Reggie Thomas as he welcomes Kade Turner, Executive Director of CASA of SoLA, to Marshal’s Community in Action tomorrow.

Kade has more than 20 years of experience in youth development and is deeply committed to child advocacy and nonprofit service. As Executive Director of CASA of SoLA, he leads efforts to recruit, train, and support volunteer advocates who represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in Louisiana’s 15th Judicial District.

A graduate of Leadership Lafayette Class ###VI, Kade also serves on the Board of Directors for Dads and Kids, Inc., continuing his commitment to strengthening children and families.

Tune in as Marshal Thomas and Kade discuss CASA of SoLA, the role of volunteer advocates, and how the community can help support vulnerable children.

From screening thousands of visitors and securing court dockets to preventing weapons from entering the courthouse and executing warrants, our deputies remain vigilant and committed to public safety.

Deputy Lee Spears is undoubtedly one of them. Funny, dependable, and always ready to help, he brings 32 years of law enforcement experience and a true commitment to serving others. Since joining the Lafayette City Marshal’s Office in 2023, he has also been a valued mentor to younger deputies.

Lafayette City Marshal’s Office, in partnership with Ochsner Health, recently donated bags and essential paper products to Faith House to support the important work they do for individuals and families in our community.

Kristen Boutte, Director of Prevention & Development, and Lekesha Dejean, Child Advocate, were on hand to receive the donations.

Marshal Reggie Thomas and Lafayette City Marshal’s Office remain committed to building strong community partnerships and supporting organizations that serve those in need.
