This week Mayor Roswarski got to visit Robotics in Manufacturing at the Lafayette Central Catholic summer Knights Camp! Organized by Greater Lafayette Commerce, the Robotics in Manufacturing Summer Camp is designed to help stimulate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) skills for students in grades K-8.

The week-long camp is built around rotating activity stations, where students engage with tools like KaiBots, micro:bits, manual and electrical circuit building, and 3D printing software—skills that mirror those found on the floors of regional manufacturers. Each activity is designed in a way to help students connect what they’re learning to what’s happening in Greater Lafayette’s booming advanced manufacturing sector.

What a fun, hands-on way to engage with young learners!🌟

THANK YOU for joining us for an incredible event last night! Despite the rain, we were able to dedicate and illuminate the new public art piece, "On the Banks of the Wabash," in honor of our City's Bicentennial!

Scott Greeson Music brought the space to life with song. Introduced by Nate Barrett, Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski and Economic Development Director Dennis Carson shared their remarks, followed by an incredible rendition of "On the Banks of the Wabash" by Audrey Johnson, Of Thee I Sing.

Thank you to our Sculpture Selection Committee, Our Bicentennial Committee, and everyone who braved the weather forecast to join us in person at the event! (And if you didn't make it in person, you can still view our Facebook Livestream of the event - linked in the comments below!) Special thanks to all of the donors who funded this art piece and made it a reality. What an incredible way to bring our Bicentennial celebration to a close✨
