Our Service to the Community
-We deliver high-quality, nutrient-dense meals every weekday to individuals of various dispositions, including the elderly, disabled, and those limited in physical capacity due to illness. Menus are created by our staff, who are trained in dietetics and conscious of the many health issues faced by the population we serve. Daily meals are delivered by our excellent tea
m of over 150 screened and trained volunteers, many of whom have worked with us for several years. This service assists our clients in living independently and maintaining a quality of life that is better than they would otherwise experience.
-Daily interaction between our volunteers and clients decreases social isolation of clients and creates opportunities for volunteers to check up on their well-being. The on-going communication between clients, their families, and our volunteers frequently results in referrals to other necessary resources, including food stamps, health care essentials, housing needs, transportation, and county services. Many of our clients and their families believe that the social and emotional support received through our volunteers is invaluable.
