A Message from LTVFRD:

It is with much sorrow that we announce we are canceling our 1964 Chevy Chevelle Raffle. In the time of nearly two years, we have struggled to gain traction with our sales. As a result, we are still a considerable amount shy of reaching the selling price of the car, let alone making any money with the raffle.

Rebate checks will begin to be mailed out in the next few days. Some may take longer to process as we do not have addresses for many entrants, especially those who purchased paper chances. If you feel we may not have your address, please drop us a note through Messager.

In addition to the Car Raffle itself, we also ran two additional raffles that featured car chances as a prize; purchases in those raffles are also being refunded.

If anyone is interested in purchasing the car outright, offers will be entertained. More information can be obtained by contacting Jim Fowler @ 814-598-6263.

We are sorry it has come to this, but please know we greatly appreciate your support, and hope we can continue to count on it as we move forward.

The members of Lafayette Township Volunteer Fire Rescue Department spent the evening clearing out the many hydrants in the Township after the recent winter storm.

Due to the recent amount of fires in the county the members felt it was important to get this task taken care of. Is this a fire department responsibility? No. Is this the water department responsibility? No. If the hydrant is located on a residents property it is their responsibility. We would like to thank the residents who did take the time to clear thier hydrants. It saves us time in an emergency. If it was 3am in the morning, we are sure you would not want to watch the fire department shoveling a hydrant out in order to put out yours or your neighbors house fire out. So we ask please now that we have cleared them out, please help us and keep them maintained.
