Over 16 acres certified for development in Lafayette Parish! 📍

Located just off Highway 90 in Broussard, the HAS Ltd. Business site is now considered "shovel-ready" after completing a rigorous review process to answer as many development questions as possible for prospective businesses. Because the due diligence is already done, companies can create local jobs, expand our tax base, and bring economic opportunity to residents faster than traditional development would allow.

🎤 Mandi Mitchell, LEDA's President & CEO, took the ESSENCE Main Stage at the 2026 ESSENCE Festival of Culture in New Orleans for a powerful conversation on economic development in Louisiana.

She joined New Orleans Mayor Helena Moreno, Jasmine Brown-DeRousselle, and Shamela Pete of Louisiana Economic Development — moderated by ESSENCE Chief Community Officer Barkue Tubman-Zawolo — to talk about closing deals that actually move communities forward and building an economic ecosystem that includes the people too often left out of it.

Mandi's insights from the discussion: Economic development isn't just about projects and announcements. It's about creating opportunity, strengthening communities, and expanding what's possible for the next generation.

🏗️ BIG NEWS for Acadiana's manufacturing sector!

NPK Access Solutions is investing $40 million to expand its Carencro facility — creating 38 new direct jobs and retaining 124 existing positions.

After nearly 30 years in Lafayette Parish, NPK is boosting production capacity by ~50% to launch a new composite matting product line serving energy, utility, and infrastructure customers nationwide. Construction will begin in September 2026 with full operations online by mid-2027
