AOC Community Media For the past nearly 30 years, AOC primarily served as Acadiana’s public access television station and was known to the community as Acadiana Open Channel.

We are Acadiana's only nonprofit media arts center and open-access channel dedicated to educating and empowering the next generation of creatives and nonprofit partners. Now, AOC Community Media has evolved into a true media center focused on building informed and engaged community through media, technology and education. We’re focused on digital communications and our reach goes far beyond our te

levision stations. AOC Community Media is a vital part of Acadiana’s infrastructure serving its residents, local government, schools and nonprofits on a daily basis.

*We increase media literacy with workshops, online resources and a knowledgeable staff.
*We teach local students how to use media equipment and be creators of content.
*We inform the public by airing government and school board meetings.
*We support local nonprofits by giving them airtime and resources.
*We give members access to our equipment and facilities for the creation of creative and meaningful content. AOC Community Media supports the First Amendment, which is a fundamental element of a functioning democracy. Whether through television, radio, or the Internet, AOC seeks to always preserve our community’s ability to express its opinions and creativity.
