Great news! Our congressional representative says he supports protecting biological s*x specifically as it relates to women and girls’ sports. But what legislation does he support that actually does this you ask?
This was the response I received when I followed up to the emphatic “yes” he gave when answering a question about biological s*x and women and girls sports at his recent Women’s Equity Forum held on March 12 at Sleepy Hollow Elementary School in Orinda. As a side, his answer was greeted with a large applause from a mostly supportive, and assuming registered Democrat crowd.
Nearly three years after I first asked him this question at a Town Hall in Lafayette and then in a private meeting more than seven months later, he once again declares that he supports the “Equality Act.” As you can see from the subsequent images, HR 15, the “Equality Act,” expands the definition of “s*x” to include “s*x stereotypes” and “gender identity;” therefore allowing biological males who want to express themselves as women to not only compete in women’s sports, but also have unfettered access to safe spaces like restrooms and locker rooms.
Rep. DeSaulnier has voted along party lines multiple times against the Protection of Women and Girls in Spots Act, which codifies biological s*x, the original intent of Title IX.
As nearly 80% of registered voters, and even 67% of registered Democrats agree, express yourself however you’d like, but gender identity ≠ biological s*x, especially when it comes to women’s sports. Women and girls will lose in this situation whether it be through competition or just safety. How can my former Democrat party continue to say they are the party for women when they can’t even define what we are and, in fact, are seeking to change the very definition?
