APC is proud to support the Acadiana Regional Airport site development and AVEX expansion through planning and infrastructure coordination alongside our state and federal partners. Early strategic investments like DRA’s CIF funding help leverage additional funding and turn site readiness into real economic growth for Acadiana.

We’re excited to share that the Acadiana Planning Commission (APC) has officially released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for environmental assessment and related technical services under our EPA Brownfields Assessment Coalition grant.

This project will support assessment and redevelopment planning activities across the Acadiana region, including work in Abbeville, Eunice, Opelousas, and Ville Platte.

We are seeking qualified firms to provide services such as:
• Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
• Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs)
• Sampling, analysis, and data interpretation
• Brownfields cleanup planning (ABCA)
• Related technical and planning support

NPS's Underrepresented Communities (URC) Grant Program

The National Park Service is now accepting applications for the Underrepresented Communities (URC) Grant Program! This program supports projects that expand representation in the National Register of Historic Places, including:
• Historic resource surveys
• Development of historic contexts
• Preparation of nominations

💰 Awards range from $15,000 to $100,000
✅ No local match required
🗓 Deadline: July 7, 2026 (10:59 PM CT)

Eligible applicants include Certified Local Governments, nonprofits, Tribal entities, and others working in historic preservation.

If your community is interested in documenting and elevating underrepresented histories, this is a great opportunity to explore.

The Delta Regional Authority has opened the 2026 funding cycles for both:
• States’ Economic Development Assistance Program (SEDAP) (due July 31, 2026).
• Community Infrastructure Fund (CIF) (due August 24, 2026).

These programs provide significant funding opportunities for:
• Infrastructure improvements
• Economic development initiatives
• Job Creation

The Acadiana Planning Commission is available to assist communities in developing competitive applications.

The Delta Regional Authority is making more than $16 million available through the States’ Economic Development Assistance Program (SEDAP) to support infrastructure, workforce and business development projects across the Delta region.

With awards ranging from $50,000 to $500,000, SEDAP helps communities invest in the projects that create opportunity, strengthen local economies and improve quality of life.
