A few days ago, I got a call from Scott Mayor Jan-Scott Richard. Mayor Richard has been a longtime friend of Catholic Charities of Acadiana. He's served alongside our volunteers at St. Joseph Diner and recently surprised a group of high school students from Georgia by thanking them in person as they built a wheelchair ramp through Rebuilding Together Acadiana for one of his residents.

This time, though, he had a big ask.

Each week, we serve more than 3,500 meals to neighbors throughout Acadiana who are experiencing food insecurity. From a hot breakfast to a nourishing lunch and evening meal, every plate we serve offers more than food, it provides hope, dignity, compassion, and the reassurance that no one has to face hunger alone.

But serving thousands of meals every week doesn't happen by accident. It takes an entire community working together.
