We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ruth Foote, an award-winning journalist and historian who championed Louisiana Creole history and culture – and a member of Team Freetown Sound Lab at the 24 Hour Citizen Project in 2022. While our community will certainly feel the loss of her wisdom and advocacy, her legacy will endure.

It’s happening! Omg, it’s really happening! 🎉

Come celebrate the official launch of a brand new Art Closet THIS SATURDAY at 9:45am, right out front of J. Wallace James Elementary!

We’ll have art supplies in the art closet and you can bring your donations to add, too!

And if you want to stick around, the JWJ annual Arts Fest begins at 10 and features art and music demonstrations, , , fun jumps, face painting, and MORE! 🥳🎈🎨🫟
