CFA is custodian of these charitable and philanthropic resources that help generous donors meet their objectives immediately and in perpetuity. CFA is an effective community leader and a neutral convener and partner addressing community projects, needs, and opportunities. CFA initiates, manages, or houses civic leadership projects in south Louisiana in partnership with federal, state, and local governments, businesses, and private interests in an effort to improve our communities, region, and state. Expert Services
The Foundation provides all back-office support for all expendable and permanent Funds and projects, including investment oversight, grant-making management and competitive grant-making, planned giving, and all IRS reporting. Additionally, CFA can provide a range of professional contract services including back-office support, grant, program, and project management.

For more than a decade, Foster the Love Louisiana has helped foster families get the things they need to care for foster children from the moment they arrive. The organization recently opened its newest pop-up foster closet at Lighthouse Community Church in Berwick, bringing more resources closer to the foster families who need them. A grant from the Community Foundation of Acadiana’s Affiliate Grant Program helped make the new closet possible.

Community Foundation of Acadiana honored four Louisiana law enforcement agencies on Aug. 4 at its seventh annual Leaders in Law Enforcement Awards.

This year's honorees include St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office, the 36th Judicial District Attorney's Office (Beauregard Parish), Louisiana State Police Crisis Response Command, and Carencro Police Department. Each agency received a $40,000 award to support programs already making a difference in their communities, from substance abuse recovery to truancy prevention to youth outreach.

For the past six years, The Gifting Grace Project’s Pack the Backpack initiative has collected new backpacks, school supplies, uniforms, shoes and other essentials for homeless and vulnerable students throughout Acadiana. With support from CFA’s Affiliate Grant Program, The Gifting Grace Project was able to more than double its outreach for last year’s initiative in St. Mary Parish.
