A HUGE thank you to everyone that came out and made our first Trivia Night fundraiser an amazing success. The ladies from the Lafayette Lioness Lions Club that cooked soups, chili, made sandwiches, desserts and volunteered to help during the event, we thank you so much. Chance Asberry for putting together such a fun set of Christmas Trivia questions, Melissa & Social Grounds Coffee Co for setting up donating proceeds to us, Kenzie for being our MC. We hope to have something quarterly going forward to help with funding this board. Stay tuned for more fun fundraisers coming soon!!

DCS has reached out and asked for assistance acquiring a couch and a couple of beds for a family that is starting over. I am not sure of the details. If you have any of these items to donate please contact Melissa or LeAnne at Whittemore's Bookkeeping. Thank you Macon County for always lifting up others in need.

Department of Children Services has contacted me asking for a twin size mattress and sheets, Teenage Boys size XXL Youth or Adult Small: Needs shorts, shirts, hoodies, pants, underwear, socks. Size 8.5 men's shoes
2- Year Boys size 6- shirts, pants, shorts, hoodies. Size 8 toddler shoes. Size 7 pull-ups and wipes.
And men's jeans size 32x36.

We also wanted to thank the Macon County Democratic Party for allowing us to speak at your meeting last night about the Backpack Program. Thank you for the monetary donation and the food donations. The generosity of organizations like yours is what makes this program a success.

As with every new school year, we are faced again with hundreds of students in need of extra nutrition on the weekends. If you or your organization would like to help keep our Backpack Program stocked please see the attached flyer. If you can print it off and post it somewhere where others can see and participate that would be amazing! This program has served so many students for the last 15 years thanks to this community and their big hearts.
