UPDATE - 10:50pm ⚠️

The water rescue has been completed and the roadway is now fully reopened and operational.

Our officers will continue monitoring low water crossings throughout the city tonight and will provide updates here if conditions change.

If you don’t need to be out on the roads tonight, please stay home and stay safe.

For our Spanish speaking community:

E-bikes are becoming more and more popular in our community, especially among our youth. While they can be a fun and convenient way to get around, it’s important for riders and parents to understand the laws, safety rules, and responsibilities that come with them.

Did you know?
🚲 Class 3 E-bikes require riders to be at least 15 years old
🚲 E-bikes must follow the same traffic laws as regular bicycles
🚲 Some electric “bikes” may actually be illegal to operate on roadways depending on speed and motor size
🚲 Riders should always yield to pedestrians and ride responsibly

We’ve received increasing complaints involving reckless riding, riding in traffic, and unsafe speeds on roadways. Please take a minute to review these important E-bike safety reminders and Texas laws with your family. Our goal is education, safety, and preventing injuries in our community.

Stay tuned for updates on our upcoming “Ride Smart with LVPD” bike safety course! 🚴‍♂️🚔
