On March 3, 2026, members of LaGrange Professional Firefighters Local 3813, the LaGrange Fire District, and Town of Newburgh EMS participated in an advanced Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI) training program designed to enhance critical emergency airway management skills.
The training was conducted by Orange County Deputy Commissioner of Emergency Services- EMS Coordinator Rich W***y, alongside Dr. Felice and Dr. Whiteside. The session provided in-depth instruction and hands-on experience in Rapid Sequence Intubation — a specialized, life-saving medical procedure used in emergency situations when a patient is unable to breathe adequately or safely on their own.
RSI enables specially trained paramedics to safely place a breathing tube into a patient’s airway, ensuring it remains open and allowing oxygen to be effectively delivered to the lungs.
This advanced training reinforces the commitment of the LaGrange Fire District to maintaining the highest standards of pre-hospital emergency care. By continually strengthening their skills and expanding their capabilities, responders are better equipped to meet the emergency medical needs of the community.

On February 9 and February 11, 2026, the LaGrange Professional Firefighters and the LaGrange Fire District conducted ice water rescue training. These training sessions are essential to ensuring our personnel remain prepared to respond effectively to water-related emergencies, particularly during winter conditions.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Town of LaGrange Parks and Recreation for providing access to Overlook Park for this important training.
