Bellevue - LaGrange Woman's Club Charitable Trust Bellevue, home of United States Senator Benjamin Harvey Hill (1823-1882) Located near downtown LaGrange.

Built circa 1853, this impressive antebellum mansion in Greek-Revival style was the home of Benjamin Harvey Hill, lawyer and Georgia and United States Congressman. Bellevue typifies the Greek Revival architecture popular in the Old South. Jefferson Davis and other Confederate celebrities were frequent guests here. At the urging of Senator Hill, lawyer, one of Georgia’s foremost orators and champion of the South during Reconstruction days, President Hayes withdrew Union occupation troops.

The LaGrange Woman's Club's annual fashion show will be held at noon on Fri., Sept. 27 at Del'Avant. Tickets are $25. They can be purchased from any club member, Chris Bonner, Bellevue's host, or by calling Judy Bledsoe at 706-882-7611. The deadline for obtaining tickets in Sep. 21st. Fall Into Fashion's theme this year is, "Fashions That Fit Like a Glove" It's shaping up to be one of the best yet! You don't want to miss it.
