Who are we? The ethos of organic, ethical and/or regenerative food seems to always be surrounded by what we aren’t. “No antibiotics” or “pesticide-free” as seen in mainline ethical food in Whole Foods or online distributors like Butcher Box.

Ok so we know what they don’t do, but what do they do? What’s the difference between our local 100% grass fed beef and the grass fed beef that’s imported from Australia and New Zealand and ends up in these mainline beef distributors as mentioned above? Urea. Urea is the difference (not to mention exporting our dollar to another country and the fact that they aren’t held to the same standards).

Yes although they may not use pesticides or hormones, they famously use large swaths of this petrochemical to make grass grow at unnatural rates. It’s how Australian ranchers can get away with their famous 10 day rest periods where we shoot to do at least 45 day rest periods during our grazing season.

So what do we do to keep the grass growing? We put the cows on it, the grass feeds them on their front, they feed their grass with their rear. That’s it. Good management and healthy animals do the rest.

Winter time the cows are out making compost while on hay, that same compost will feed the soil where that hay came from. It’s that simple.

We understand that everyone’s doing their best and although they can be deceptive, certifiers have their place too. But the closer you are to your farmer, the more you can find out what they DO not just what they don’t do.

Need some of our 100% grass-fed & finished goodness in your life this winter? We invite you to purchase a share of one of our animals that we will be slaughtering this fall to keep you and your loved ones well fed and provided for all winter long.

Traditionally, animals were always slaughtered in the fall since that animal has been grazing on forages all season long. During which they’re accumulating healthy fat, valuable peptides only found in animal products and the endless list of micronutrients that our animals bioaccumulate from grazing on wild pasture rich in polyphenols throughout the season.

To purchase a share of beef, whether it be a whole cow or as little as 1/16 of a cow; visit our website (link in bio), call us at 845-642-9482 or email our manager Bennett at 845-642-9482

The boys just hanging underneath the apple tree. Did you know our land used to be an orchard? Now these trees serve as a great shade source no matter where their paddock is!

The past several weeks we have been getting a wonderful pick up in business here, we are so blessed to have a growing community of people who value voting with their dollar for small family farms, animal welfare, regenerative agriculture and greater health.

This amazing pick up has also revealed to us just how important nose to tail eating is in this food revolution. We are sold out of ribeyes, New York strips and filet mignon. Yet we have hundreds of pounds of chuck, organs, bottom round steaks and sirloins in our freezer. We cannot tell our customers how to live their lives nor do we want to.

However as a small producer who values every ounce of meat that these cows give their lives for us to have, we have to advocate for eating them in their entirety. Not just the culturally normal parts. This is how we stay afloat as a farm and respect our animals. Thank you for all the value you being to this farm and our greater community!
