We are offering two Lifeguard Certification classes at the Tymor Park outdoor pool in May and in June.
LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION COURSE (AGES 15+)
June 3rd, 7th, 12th, and 14th (Wed 4pm - 8pm, Sun 8am - 6pm, Fri 4pm - 8pm, Sun 8am - 2pm)
at the Tymor Park Outdoor Pool
$400 for Lifeguard Certification Course
Lifeguard Certification is through American Red Cross and includes CPR & First Aid
Candidates must be available every day of their class.
PREREQUISITES FOR THE COURSE ARE AS FOLLOWS:
• Must be at least 15 years old prior to the start of class and must be available for everyday of the class.
• 150-50 swim sequence. Without stopping, participant must enter the water, fully submerge and swim 150 yards with face in the water doing front crawl or breaststroke. After completing 150 yards, participant will immediately begin the 2-minute tread with no hands. After the two minutes are up, participant must swim another 50 yards. This must be done consecutively without stopping.
• Timed event. Participant will start in the water, 10lb brick will be placed 20 yards ahead in 7-9 feet of water. Participant must swim, retrieve the brick, return to the surface, swim on back with the brick to the starting point and exit the water in 1 minute and 40 seconds. NO GOGGLES ALLOWED.
• The online learning portion of this class (that take 7+ hours to complete) MUST be completed prior to the start of this class on Day 1. This information will be sent out via email 2 weeks prior to the class.
This class does not include waterfront. It is only good for pools.
LIFEGUARD RECERTIFICATION COURSE
Sunday, May 31st, 2026 from 8am-6pm
at the Tymor Park Outdoor Pool
$275 for Lifeguard Recertification Course
American Red Cross recertification courses are for those who have an ACTIVE American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification that does not expire prior to June 1st.
This class will be a blended learning course. There will be an online portion of class that is required to be completed prior to the start of the class. The online class will be emailed out two weeks prior to the start of the course. Class will consist of a review of skills and an evaluation of skills performed.
Candidates must attend the full course to receive recertification.
This class does not include waterfront. It is only good for pools.
