🤠 Dancing, birthdays and a great afternoon at the Senior Center! 🎂

Our Senior Center was full of smiles today as everyone got moving with some fun line dancing! There’s nothing like good music and good company to brighten the day.

We also celebrated our monthly birthdays with a little extra sweetness! We’re excited and grateful to have LaGrange Sunrise Rotary now sponsoring our monthly birthday celebrations for our seniors. Happy Birthday to all of our September birthday celebrants!

Has anyone noticed them starting to eat more in prep for their trip? There seemed to be a lot of them in our area this year!

Time is running out to spot ruby-throated hummingbirds in some areas, with southward migration already underway from Minnesota to Maine. 🍂 https://bit.ly/4xCUfMj

🌕 Heads up, moon watchers... August’s Full Sturgeon Moon is almost here!

Look up Thursday night, August 27, as the Full Sturgeon Moon lights up the late-summer sky, reaching peak illumination just after midnight at 12:18 a.m. Friday.

🐟 Wondering about the name? The Sturgeon Moon gets its name from the giant lake sturgeon that were historically plentiful in North American waters during this time of year.

🌑 And this one comes with a bonus! A deep partial lunar eclipse will cover about 96% of the Moon at its peak around 12:12am, potentially turning much of it a beautiful reddish-copper color.

So if you're still awake Thursday night… step outside and look up! No telescope or special eclipse glasses required.
