At approximately 5:30 AM we responded to a possible house fire on 200 N. First arriving units observed heavy fire throughout the house with a second structure being threatened. We were able to save the second structure however the home was a total loss. One cat was rescued with no injuries. All occupants were able to get out of the house because of working smoke detectors!! Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers as they lost everything. I couldn’t be more proud of all of our guys and the neighboring departments for the hard work they put in this morning. I would like to thank the following departments and organizations that worked their butts off today!

Urbana Community Fire Department
Noble Township Fire Department
The Andrews/Dallas TWP Volunteer Fire Department
Wabash County EMA
Wabash County Sheriff’s Department
Wabash County Central Dispatch
Heartland REMC
NIPSCO
And special thanks to Station 1 Firehouse Cafe for suppling breakfast and coffee to everyone.

🚨Shotgun Season - Deer Hunting🚨

That time of year again. 11/15/2025 is opening day of shotgun season, as you go out and attempt to dispatch your deer ensure your personal safety and help with the safety of others.

1) Wear Orange - Save your life by alerting others you’re a hunter and not a deer.

2) Practice Gun Safety - Everyone wants to go home, remember your hunters Ed. Only point at something your willing to destroy, treat every gun as it’s loaded, finger off the trigger until your certain you have a full sight picture.

3) Gear - Make sure to stay warm and bring all necessary gear to aid in your hunt

4) Harness - No one is perfect and tree stands are man made, wear the safety equipment to prevent breaking a bone/back, or even save yourself from death.

We hope everyone has a wonderful shotgun season, best of luck to all hunters. Remember the land is filled with not only experienced hunters but new ones. Be mindful, be vigilant, be safe.
