While patrolling the area of El Toro Road and Paseo de Valencia, deputies contacted a known parolee.

The subject consented to a search of his backpack. Deputies located a glass pipe with a bulbous end containing a white crystalline substance. During a further search, deputies also located a piece of plastic containing a white crystalline substance.

The subject, who had prior convictions, was taken into custody and booked into the Orange County Jail. The suspected narcotics and related evidence were collected for further investigation.

Today around 11:00 a.m., deputies responded to the area of Calle de La Louisa and Paseo De Valencia regarding a theft of merchandise from a nearby retail store.

When deputies arrived, the suspect was no longer at the scene. Deputies canvassed the surrounding area and located the suspect at a nearby bus stop.

The suspect, who was still in possession of the stolen merchandise, was detained and later taken into custody without further incident.

Over the weekend, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies assigned to Laguna Hills Police Services arrested a wanted felon following a brief foot pursuit.

During the investigation, deputies recovered suspected methamphetamine, a digital scale, numerous plastic baggies commonly associated with narcotics sales, and an unregistered handgun. The suspect, a convicted felon, was taken into custody without further incident.

This arrest highlights our deputies’ proactive efforts to remove illegal drugs and fi****ms from our community while holding offenders accountable. We remain committed to keeping Laguna Hills a safe place.

At approximately 8:05 a.m., a call was received reporting a structure fire in the area of Via Lomas.

Deputies have established a perimeter around the area. There is currently no access to eastbound ViaLomas from Moulton Parkway or westbound Via Lomas from Alicia Parkway.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

In the early morning hours today, Laguna Hills deputies conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation. During the stop, deputies observed drug paraphernalia in plain view, leading to a search of the driver and vehicle.

Deputies located a loaded, unregistered firearm and suspected co***ne. The driver was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail.

Laguna Hills Police Services has proudly teamed up with Special Olympics Southern California and is hosting a Heroes Supporting Heroes event at the Laguna Hills BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse!

Join us as our deputies step into the role of waiters, serving YOU at BJ’s! Every tip officers receive will go directly to supporting Special Olympics athletes.

Additionally, with each flyer presented BJ’s Will Donate 20% of food and soft beverage sales to the Special Olympics.
