Aloha Vacation Tutoring

Aloha Vacation Tutoring Aloha Vacation Tutoring is an educational company like no other. And if you live here, even better!

We specialize in high level math and science as well as learn to read programs, but can tutor anything and everything in between! Imagine being able to get high quality instruction from an experienced and well-qualified instructor for as little as an hour a day, before you spend the rest of your hours exploring the beaches and mountains and sites of Hawaii. Families take vacations to Hawaii during

all times of the year, yet education and learning rarely take a vacation for any student. When students have the opportunity to have a great trip to Maui, they are looking forward to exploring the island and enjoying the sun. The last thing they want is to come home to after a few weeks in paradise to a mountain of work and that stressful feeling of being behind. With our expertise, dedication, and efficient methods of teaching and tutoring, you can keep pace with your academic demands and still have the vacation that you want. We have licensed and certified teachers as well as industry professionals that can help students learn new material or shake the rust off of old material during the summer months, so that students can return to class confident they will succeed in the upcoming year. You can also take advantage of our standardized test prep services while on vacation. We offer prep courses in the SAT, GRE, GMAT and other standardized testing exams. The goal is to enjoy Maui – hit the beach, surf, enjoy the island, and get some studying done while you’re here.

What do physicist Max Plank and a beach have in common? The quantum of electromagnetic radiation, of course! For a long time, radiation was thought to be a smooth continuous form of energy, just as a beach looks smooth and whole from afar. But we know there’s nothing really smooth or continuous about a beach, but that’s it’s made of millions and billions and zillions of grains of sand, just as radiation energy is really made of zillions of energy “grains” or quantum! If you’re interested in more awesome physics, check out one of our favorite authors, M Y Han.

Last night’s moon was pretty incredible. Did you know that we always see the same side of the moon and that the back side wasn’t photographed until 1959? Do you have any other moon facts?

In light of everything going on around us, we’re still receiving great news! Here’s one of our favorite, hardest working students on the day he found out he got into Clemson, his dream school. We know that as circumstances change around us, sometimes a little help can go a long way. As many schools convert to online learning and distance learning programs, Aloha Vacation Tutoring would like to offer FREE online support for the student community through the end of the school year.

Starting next week, we will be having Open Office Hours. During these 60 minute sessions, students can bring ANY question they have regarding ANY content for those in grades 5-12, and college students. When you sign up (through email, Instagram, FB, or directly through our website), you’ll be given details on how to meet up online. For grades 5-9, meeting date and time is as follows:

5th - 6th grades: Friday 10-11am
7th - 9th grades: Friday 11-12pm

If you’re in 10th, 11th, 12th grade or college, we will set up a date and time based on subject, so please tell us what you’re working on so we can make sure to have other students with similar needs in the same video chat.

We’re excited to see our usual students, and even more excited to meet new ones!

If you’re a parent and new to homeschooling in general, we can help set you up as well. Feel free to contact us directly for any consultation services!

Although it’s spring break and a time off for just about everyone around the world, we’ve been getting more and more requests for tutoring because of students with extended time off from school. During this time, we’d like to extend our services to those families who we’ve been working with who need help with lessons, curriculum, or school structure. Additionally, we’ve had more and more requests from new students and families who are on vacation to help supplement their children’s schoolwork. We would love to help everyone at this time and can easily set you up with day-to-day lessons for you to do at home. For the time being, we are doing ALL of our sessions via Skype or over the phone. Please reach out to us if you need educational support or have any questions. Stay safe and keep studying!

Working with high school seniors is a love-hate relationship. Some, like this dedicated student, are still striving to be the best and be the most prepared they can be for college. Others have checked out with two months of school left. It’s our job to keep everyone on track regardless of the type of student they may be. May spring break come quickly and grades still thrive!

This is our last of four weeks working with an awesome Canadian family. Besides teaching new math units and keeping up with regular school work while he‘s on vacation, we’ve been helping him with a science fair project. He’s doing a two part project: which sunscreen works best to protect our skin, and will sunscreen have an effect on fresh cut flowers. Results coming to our stories soon!

Math Mondays! One of our hard working 5th graders who we’re determined to make love math! She’s actually great at math, but feels behind in class and it leads to her missing some questions that she should be getting right. While we’re to help with math, we also help to make math cool.
