LahainaTown Action Committee LahainaTown Action Committee promotes, preserves, and encourages the historical, cultural, social, commercial and environmental vitality of Lahaina.

Often called the "jewel in the crown of Maui," Lahaina is a destination that is experienced by two million people, or 83% of all Maui visitors, annually. Lahaina town is the second most visited spot on Maui after beaches. We warmly welcome you to visit our historic town, which is nestled between the calm waters of the Auau Channel facing Lana'i island and the fertile peaks and valleys of Mauna Kah

alawai (West Maui mountain range). Lahaina has provided a home for many cultures over the centuries, always welcoming visitors to its inviting shores. When the first Polynesian settlers arrived at these shores well over a thousand years ago, Lahaina offered them abundant freshwater streams, verdant valleys with fertile volcanic soil, warm, sunny days and a pristine, bountiful sea. Even today, much of this can still be said of Lahaina. Steeped in a history which consistently documents its progress from one era to another, Lahaina has retained a flavor of each to this day. Over 18,000 full-time residents call Lahaina home. Our challenge, as the caretakers of this legacy, is to continue to support compatible tourism while protecting Lahaina's unique cultural and natural resources, and to sustain the viability of our community.

Congratulations to West Maui Sports & Fishing Supply on the grand opening of their new flagship store in Lahaina on Saturday, June 27.

After losing their store in the 2023 wildfire, Katie and Lopaka Wilson never gave up on returning home. In 2024, the LahainaTown Action Committee was proud to nominate them for the Mayor’s Small Business Awards, where they were recognized for their resilience and commitment to our community.

Welcome home, West Maui Sports! 🎣🌊

County liquor license holders reminded of June 15 renewal deadline

The County of Maui Department of Liquor Control is reminding liquor license holders that license renewal applications are due by 4 p.m. June 15, 2026. If not renewed by the deadline, current licenses will expire on June 30, 2026.

The Application for Renewal of Liquor License and all required documents must be mailed in or dropped off at the County Department of Liquor Control and must be received and accepted by the department no later than 4 p.m., June 15, 2026.

The department strongly encourages all licensees to submit their renewal applications and all required documents as early as possible. Early submission allows the department time to properly review renewal materials and provides licensees time to make corrections if the application or required documents are incomplete or need revision.

For more information, call the County Department of Liquor Control at (808) 243-7772.
