Yesterday morning at roughly 08:00am, units from ATFEMS were responding to a medical emergency in Almira Township when they came across a motor vehicle accident that had just happened at Cedar Run & Reynolds Rd. Due to the extent of the accident, all units were diverted to this incident and an additional ambulance from Benzie County EMS was sent to the original medical call in the south side of the township.

One victim did require extrication. Two patients were transported to the hospital via Almira/Benzie EMS and Long Lake EMS, with non life threatening injuries. We were assisted on scene by Benzie County EMS, Long Lake Fire/EMS, Inland Township FD, BCSO and Benzie 911. We would like to express our gratitude to our mutual aid partners with helping us mitigate both incidents.

LifeVac USA choking device #2 purchased by the Almira Township Fire & EMS Association and donated to Lake Ann Elementary.

Our CPR instructors were also out at Lake Ann Elementary this morning re-certifying 26 faculty members from Benzie Central Early Childhood program. Lovely group of ladies! 😁

We’re happy to help our schools roll into the new school year with some emergency preparedness!

What an incredible afternoon. We want to sincerely thank everyone who came out today to celebrate our annual open house and 75th anniversary with us— sponsored by the Almira Township Fire & EMS Association. Cake, popcorn, games, prizes, and even dunking the Fire Chief— yepp we got him in there!

For 75 years, the members of ATFEMS have had the priviledge of serving the Lake Ann community, and today was a wonderful reminder of just how special that community truly is. We are humbled and thankful for everyone who spent the afternoon with us. Our anniversary isn’t just about looking back at the past, it’s about celebrating the people who have made this department what it is today and continuing to serve for many years to come.

Special thanks to the members who make up our Fire & EMS association, for making this event what it is every year. Our fundraiser for “McKinley’s Kids” was a big sucess, stay tuned for a post next week!

Thank you Lake Ann for 75 years of trust, support, and community. We are truly honored! 🚒🚑❤️
