Green Bay Road Reconstruction: Good News! There will be no construction on Saturday, August 29.

Monday, August 31 – Friday, September 4
• Storm sewer installation will continue on Green Bay Road from West Center Avenue to the south. This work is expected to take two weeks. The road will be closed one block at a time as the work progresses south, ending at West Hawthorne Court.
• West Center Avenue will be closed on Monday, August 31 to complete the storm sewer work at that location. Residents should use Thornwood Lane to access IL Route 176.

Saturday, September 5 – Monday, September 7
• There will be no construction over the Labor Day weekend.

Looking Ahead: Week of September 8:

Storm sewer installation will continue.

Green Bay Road Construction Update: 8/21/26

Good News: There will be no construction on Saturday, August 22.

Monday, August 24 – Wednesday, August 26

Final grading of the road base will continue.
Asphalt paving will start on Tuesday, August 25 at the south end of the project from West Hawthorne Court to south of West Witchwood Lane, followed by the north end of the project from West Center Avenue to IL Route 176, being completed by end of day on Wednesday, August 26.

Work at the south end of the project will require a full closure of Green Bay Road. Residents north of the Green Bay Road bridge should access their homes from the north via IL Route 176. Residents south of the bridge should access their homes from the south through Lake Forest.

Work at the north end of the project will have flaggers to direct traffic through the work zone. Expect delays as traffic patterns change as the work progresses. If exiting north to IL Route 176, it is recommended to turn onto Green Bay Road from West Sheridan Place (from the east or west) or West Prospect Avenue (from the west) as crews will be busy paving on Green Bay Road at West Center Avenue and Thornwood Lane.

Thursday, August 27 – Friday, August 28

Storm sewer installation will continue on Green Bay Road from West Center Avenue to the south. The road will be closed one block at a time as the work progress south, ending at West Hawthorne Court.

Saturday, August 29

Reserved as a weather or schedule recovery day, if needed.

This afternoon, the Lake Bluff Police Department responded to a report from a Tangley Oaks resident, in which a coyote took a small dog from a yard, and carried it into a wooded area. Officers responded and searched the area. The dog has not been recovered and is believed to have died as a result of the incident.

The Police Department is working with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) to document the incident, which is believed to be the first reported incident of its kind in the Village.

Coyotes are a natural part of our region, and seeing one does not necessarily indicate a threat to people or pets. However, this incident is an important reminder to take precautions, particularly with small pets:

- Keep small pets close and supervised when outdoors, including in fenced yards.
- If you encounter a coyote, do not run. Stand tall, make yourself appear larger, yell, clap your hands, wave your arms, or use a whistle or other noise-making device.
- If the coyote moves away but stops and looks back, continue making noise and appearing large until it leaves the area.
- Never intentionally feed coyotes, and remove outdoor food sources that may attract coyotes or their prey.

If a coyote behaves aggressively or poses an immediate threat to people, move to a safe location and call 911.

The storms on Tuesday, August 11 have caused some residents to lose power. See latest update from ComEd below:

As of 2:30 PM August 11:

Lake Bluff currently has 72 individual customers out of service due to today's storm activity. Crews are enroute to the site to assess and repair, and the Village will share an estimated time of restoration when one becomes available.

Customers should report any isolated outages, damaged electrical equipment, or downed wires directly to ComEd. Residents can report outages and receive updates by texting OUT to 26633 (COMED) or by contacting ComEd at 1-800-EDISON1 (1-800-334-7661).

STORM CLEANUP UPDATE

Due to the large volume of fallen branches throughout the Village from the July 20 storm, our Public Works department is continuing to pick up curbside branches from that event.

To help speed up the cleanup process, please do not bring regular yard trimmings or unrelated branches to the curb, as this collection is specifically for storm-damaged branches. Groot will pick up regular landscape waste on your regularly scheduled collection day IF it is bundled (no more than 2 ft in diameter, 4 ft in length) with twine and tied securely for pickup.

This is an important Green Bay Road Construction Update from the Village of Lake Bluff.

Good News: There will be no construction on SATURDAY, AUGUST 8.

MONDAY, AUGUST 10:
• Weather dependent, concrete sidewalk will be finished on the north end of the project and formwork will be cleaned up. This is not expected to significantly impact traffic.

MONDAY, AUGUST 10 - FRIDAY, AUGUST 14:
• Concrete work will begin on the south end of the project from West Hawthorne Court to south of West Witchwood Lane which will require a full closure of Green Bay Road.
• Residents north of the Green Bay Road bridge should access their homes from the north via IL Route 176.
• Residents south of the bridge should access their homes from the south through Lake Forest.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 15:
• Reserved as a weather or schedule recovery day, if needed.

LOOKING AHEAD: AUGUST 17-21:
• Work will continue on the north and south ends of the project to prepare for asphalt paving.

GREEN BAY ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Good News: There will be no construction on Saturday, August 1.

Monday, August 3:
• Green Bay Road at Thornwood Lane will be reduced to one lane throughout the day while crews complete storm sewer work.
• Traffic control personnel will be on-site to direct traffic safely.

Tuesday, August 4:
• Storm sewer work will begin at West Hawthorne Court and move south toward West Witchwood Lane. Green Bay Road will be closed in the active work area.
• West Witchwood Lane will remain open on Tuesday, allowing residents to access their homes from either the north (IL Route 176) or the south (Lake Forest).
• Concrete work will also begin on the north end of the project. This work is not expected to significantly impact traffic.

Wednesday, August 5 – Friday, August 7:
• Storm sewer work will shift to West Witchwood Lane, requiring a full closure of Green Bay Road at Witchwood Lane.
• Residents north of the Green Bay Road bridge should access their homes from the north via IL Route 176.
• Residents south of the bridge should access their homes from the south through Lake Forest.
• Concrete work will continue on the north end of the project. Traffic control personnel will remain on-site throughout the work zone.

LATEST COMED STORM RESTORATION UPDATE (7/31, 9:18 AM)

As of the most recent report, approximately 99.5% of impacted customers have been restored, with 5,078 customers returned to service. Currently, 24 customers remain without power, placing Lake Bluff in the final stages of restoration.

At this time, there is one remaining open outage in the community, and one crew has been assigned to complete the repair. Crews continue to work through the final restoration activities while maintaining ComEd's restoration priorities, including public safety, critical infrastructure, and remaining customer outages.

With nearly all impacted customers now restored, crews are focused on resolving the final outage and safely returning service to the remaining customers as quickly as possible.

Residents are encouraged to:
- Stay away from any downed power lines and report them immediately to 1-800-EDISON1 (1-800-334-7661);
- Report outages and receive updates by texting OUT to 26633 (COMED);
- Enroll in outage alerts through ComEd's Outage Alerts program.

ComEd will continue to share updates as additional information becomes available.

LATEST COMED STORM RESTORATION UPDATE (7/30, 9:53 AM)

As of the most recent report, approximately 97.0% of impacted customers have been restored, with 4,803 customers returned to service. Currently, 151 customers remain without power, reflecting continued progress as crews work through the remaining outage locations.

ComEd currently has 13 crews actively supporting restoration efforts within Lake Bluff. There are 14 open outage events remaining, with crews dispatched or assigned to the majority of these outages.

The largest remaining outages are associated with:
- Circuit C302 DCC30 – approximately 110 customers affected
- Circuit C144 SS280 – approximately 15 customers affected

The largest remaining outage on Circuit C302 DCC30 currently has an estimated restoration time of July 30 at 3:00 p.m., and crews are on site actively working to restore service. Several additional outages are also estimated for restoration by 3:00 p.m. today, while the smaller outage currently has an estimated restoration time of July 31 at 1:00 a.m. As always, estimated restoration times may be adjusted as repairs continue and crews assess field conditions.

Crews continue to follow ComEd's established restoration priorities, focusing first on:
- Transmission and substation facilities serving the largest number of customers;
- Critical public health and safety infrastructure, including police, fire, water, and communications facilities;
- Major feeder lines serving larger neighborhoods; and
- Remaining neighborhood and individual service outages.

With 97% of impacted customers already restored, Lake Bluff is nearing full restoration. Crews remain focused on completing the final phase of restoration and safely returning service to the remaining customers as quickly as possible.

Residents are encouraged to:

As of the most recent report, approximately 95.8% of impacted customers have been restored, with 4,584 customers returned to service. Currently, 200 customers remain without power, representing significant progress toward full restoration.

ComEd currently has nine crews actively working on outages within Lake Bluff. There are 16 open outage events remaining, with crews dispatched or assigned to many of the outstanding outages.

The largest remaining outages are associated with:
- Circuit C302 DCC30 – approximately 110 customers affected
- Circuit C144 SS280 – approximately 43 customers affected
- A localized outage on Circuit C144 SS280 – approximately 15 customers affected

The two largest outages currently have estimated restoration times of July 30 at 11:00 p.m., and crews have arrived on site and are actively working to complete repairs. The smaller localized outage is currently estimated for restoration by July 31 at 1:00 a.m. As always, restoration estimates may be adjusted based on field conditions and repair progress.

Crews continue to follow ComEd's established restoration priorities, focusing first on:
- Transmission and substation facilities serving the largest number of customers;
