Some students find their passion. Others use it to inspire an entire community. đź’™

Congratulations to Alejandro, a Lake Bluff School District 65 alumnus and member of the Lake Forest High School Class of 2026, on being named The Forest Scout's Musician of the Year.

Throughout his years at Lake Forest High School, Alejandro has shared his talent, dedication, and love of music with countless audiences. His commitment to his craft, willingness to challenge himself, and passion for performance have made a lasting impact on the school community.

What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that it reflects not only musical excellence but also the perseverance, creativity, and hard work that helped him grow as both a musician and a leader.

We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor and grateful to have been part of Alejandro's educational journey.

Congratulations, Alejandro, and best wishes as you continue pursuing your passion in the years ahead.

Some students leave a mark through accomplishments. Others leave a mark through how they make people feel.

For Josie, it’s both. 💙

A Lake Bluff School District 65 alumna and member of the Lake Forest High School Class of 2026, Josie was recently named The Forest Scout's Person of the Year for her leadership, positivity, and dedication to building community.

Whether serving as Student Body President, supporting her classmates, leading through Student Council, mentoring younger students, or simply taking the time to make someone feel welcome, Josie has become known for lifting others up and bringing people together. Friends, teachers, and peers describe her as someone who leads with kindness, celebrates the successes of others, and makes every room brighter.

We are incredibly proud to see a former LB65 student recognized not only for what she has achieved, but for the person she has become.

Congratulations, Josie, on this well-deserved honor. Your Lake Bluff family is cheering you on as you begin your next chapter.

Our Lake Bluff Elementary student journalists are making headlines! 📰✨

For the second year in a row, LBES fifth graders partnered with The Forest Scout to pitch ideas, conduct interviews, write stories, edit drafts, and create graphics — and today we are proud to share their work featured online for the community to enjoy.

From space exploration to Disney expansions, proboscis monkeys to local sports stars, these young writers covered it all with creativity and curiosity.

Check out their stories here: https://theforestscout.com/?s=lbes

We are so proud of our students for sharing their voices and learning what real journalism looks like. 💙💚

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. ❤️🤍💙

Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start of summer. It is a time to reflect with gratitude on the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy each day.

As you spend time with family and friends, we hope you’ll also take a moment to remember the heroes whose legacy lives on in our hearts.

Some recognitions are too meaningful not to celebrate again.

For this Feel Good Friday, we’re still celebrating Nic Schlichting (“Mr. S”) of Lake Bluff Elementary, who was honored as the **2026 Lake County Educator of the Year for Educational Service Personnel** 💚💙

If you know Nic, you know this recognition couldn’t have gone to a more deserving person.

Nic is the kind of educator who changes the entire feel of a school. He’s the calm presence in challenging moments, the teammate who jumps in wherever he’s needed with a genuine “no worries,” and the person who makes students feel safe, seen, and capable.

He doesn’t just support students academically—he builds relationships that help them believe in themselves. He celebrates their victories, meets them where they are, and brings patience, creativity, humor, and heart to every single day. Whether he’s helping a student work through a tough moment, cheering them on at a concert or school event, or simply making a child smile when they need it most, Nic shows up fully.

The truth is, awards recognize a moment, but what makes this so special is that Nic’s impact happens in hundreds of quiet moments that most people never see.

We’re incredibly proud that one of Lake Bluff’s very own was recognized with this honor.

Congratulations again, Mr. S. Thank you for the extraordinary care you bring to our students, staff, and families every day.
