The gear gets thrown in the truck, the radio gets turned on, and you never know what the day is going to bring.

Could be nothing, could be everything.

Either way, when the tones drop, we’re ready.

Just a reminder that behind every call is a firefighter who left whatever they were doing to show up and help someone else. 🚒❤️

⚠️ LBFD Weather Alert ⚠️

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for our area.

Strong winds, large hail, heavy rain, and dangerous lightning are possible. If you’re out on the lake, now is the time to head to shore. Secure loose items around your home and avoid traveling unless necessary.

Please do not drive through flooded roadways. It only takes a small amount of moving water to sweep a vehicle away.

Keep an eye on local weather updates and make sure you have a way to receive emergency alerts.

Stay safe, Lake Bridgeport and surrounding communities. 🚒⛈️💨🌧️

(5-28-26, 2:25 PM): A strong, non-severe storm is currently moving into Wise County, East, at approximately 15 MPH. Up to half-dollar sized hail and strong winds will be possible. Nothing severe at the moment. Lots of lightning and torrential rain will occur. A special weather statement is in effect for Runaway Bay, Lake Bridgeport, Bridgeport, Paradise, Cottondale, Boonsville, and Salt Creek until 2:45 PM. Enjoy the rain (again) 😎

☀️ It’s almost summer time y’all ❤️‍🔥

You already know what that means around here. Triple digit heat, dry grass, lake traffic, fireworks, kids running wild, and everybody thinking “it’ll be fine.”

Until it’s not. 😅

Hydrate before you’re thirsty. Slow down on the roads. Don’t toss ci******es out the window. Watch your burn piles and for the love of all things holy do not leave kids or pets in vehicles.

LBFD is ready for summer… but we’d really prefer not to meet y’all in an emergency. 🚒💪

Wise County takes care of its own. ❤️‍🔥

Runaway Bay still needs helping hands after the storms. If you can volunteer Saturday, please do. Even a few hours can make a difference for a family trying to clean up what’s left behind.

LBFD supports our neighbors. Community over everything. 💪

(This picture was shared with the FD and we are just sharing the ℹ️ !)

❤️‍🔥 Happy Wednesday from LBFD ❤️‍🔥

Check on your people. Slow down a little. Drink some water. Breathe. Life’s been heavy lately for a lot of folks.

And as always thank you to this community for showing up for each other the way y’all do.

That kind of support matters more than you know. 🚒💪
