Family & Youth was establish as a non-profit organization in 1970 to provide affordable and professional family services to people in Southwest Louisiana.

The mission of Family & Youth is to provide affordable and professional services dedicated to advocacy, counseling and education for people of Southwest Louisiana and in communities we are called to serve. Today, Family & Youth cost effectively manages and operates key community model programs including Children’s Advocacy Center, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Performance EAP (Employee Assistance Services), Autism Support Alliance, The Shannon Cox Counseling Center, Human Services Response Institute and The Leadership Centers for Youth.

Join us for the SWLA Professional Development Institute: Beyond the Link, on September 2, 2026 at L’Auberge Lake Charles!

This is a one-day training designed for professionals, including Law Enforcement, District Attorney’s Offices, Professional Counselors, Social Services, Educators, Businesses, and beyond!

The Institute will focus on the critical intersection between domestic violence and human trafficking and address risk factors of dating violence, sexual violence, and stalking, to strengthen collaborative efforts to support victims and prevent exploitation.

Thank you to Coldwell Banker Ingle Safari Realty for hosting the 5th Annual Cheers for CASA in support of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), a Division of Family & Youth.

CASAs are trained volunteers who speak in court for the best interests of a child who has been removed from his or her home due to abuse and neglect. These dedicated volunteers serve as the eyes and ears of the court, ensuring that each child’s unique needs and circumstances are heard and represented. CASA volunteers help children heal, find stability, and reach safe, permanent homes more quickly.
