MAKE A SPLASH AT THE LIBRARY FOR THE MISSAUKEE CONSERVATION DISTRICT'S RIPPLE EFFECT FESTIVAL!

The Missaukee District Library is excited to be part of the Lake City Ripple Effect Festival this Saturday, August 29th from 9:00 a.m. - Noon.

Stop by our library for some hands-on water fun for the whole family!

🐟 MINNOW POOL – Get up close and watch these little swimmers in our outdoor minnow pool! Kids can observe, explore, and learn about these fascinating little fish.

🌊 MAKE IT • TAKE IT WAVE BOTTLE – Create your very own wave in a bottle! Kids can make a fun water-themed creation to take home and enjoy.

Come explore, learn, play, and discover how even the smallest ripple can make a difference!

Bring the whole family into town and enjoy kids' games, prizes, fishing, water science, giveaways, and lots of hands-on fun!

Puzzle Fun at Missaukee District Library!

What a fun afternoon of puzzling! On Saturday, August 8th, the Missaukee District Library hosted a Puzzle Competition, with six teams competing to see who could put together a goofy chicken-themed puzzle the fastest! Here are the photos of the top 3 finishers.

There was plenty of teamwork, laughter and a little friendly competition along the way. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the event such a success!

And remember, the puzzle fun doesn’t have to end! Missaukee District Library has puzzle activities available ALL YEAR LONG!

🧩 Bring One/Take One Puzzle Swap: Patrons can bring in a puzzle and take another one home to enjoy. Bring it back when you’re finished—or swap it for another! This has become a favorite activity for many of our patrons.

🧩 Community Puzzle: We also have a puzzle set up at the library that everyone can work on. Stop by, add a piece (or a few!), and help us complete it together!

Whether you’re a serious puzzler or just enjoy putting a few pieces together, come join the fun at the library!

Festival of the Pines GIRLS TIME activity! Come make Autumn Birthday Cards with Kathy at the library. Saturday, September 19th from 10:00 - 11:30 am. The cost is $20.00 and you get lots and lots of cards to take home. Register ahead if possible at the library or show up with friends September 19th.

Bubbles, Bubbles Everywhere!!
A big thank you to Karri Dumas with Silly Goose Foam Productions. Karri and her team were amazing! Many of the parents said they would be interested in information for birthday parties or other family occasions. You can email Karri at [email protected] or call her at 231-281-7104. And those waffle cones!! Volunteers from the women’s club made 130 waffle cones for us. The Missaukee County Farm Bureau Promotion and Education donated the ice cream with Emington – Shultz Farm Bureau Insurance Agency. What a day!

And our Library band, Play Date, entertained us as well! Bill and Gene found some good bubble songs to warm us up!

Summer reading program is over, but summer reading still continues! See you at the library!
