To celebrate Juneteenth, the Chicken Coop Little Free Library distributed books to other little libraries in Lake Elmo and Stillwater, including Juneteenth for Mazie by Floyd Cooper and ABCs of Black History by Rio Cortez.
The Chicken Coop Little Free Library stands against legislation aimed at limiting or banning the discussion of race and/or racism in the classroom. The library remains dedicated to sharing diverse books with the community to amplify traditionally marginalized voices.

A goal of The Chicken Coop Little Free Library is to always have a plentiful supply of books featuring characters and authors who are traditionally underrepresented in publishing - including Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian & Pacific Islander, and those in the LGBTQ community. We support initiatives such as and in order to better serve the community and to close this representation gap.
