Elect Steve Martin for City Council

Elect Steve Martin for City Council Let's start living the dream. Mr. Steve Martin, has been an operations professional for over thirty years. Steve’s first position was with General Electric Co.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering, as well as a Masters of Business Administration with emphasis in finance. Medical Systems Division as a Customer Service Engineer working in southern California diagnostic imaging departments from Santa Barbara to Temecula. He quickly advanced through the ranks and was promoted to Area Manager of San Diego. In 1985 Steve joined R-

Squared Scan Systems of Anaheim, California as Vice President of Operation. R-Squared was the largest independent service organization in the nation providing maintenance on high-end computerized medical equipment and 3D imaging products to hospitals and diagnostic centers across the US. At the time of his hire, R-Squared had annual revenues of 6 million dollars. Steve left 5 years later after successfully integrating two acquired companies into the operations and with R-Squared generating over 40 million dollars in annual revenue. Since then, Steve has started several business including Instructional Access, Inc. in 1998 where he works today. Instructional Access is the only company that provides specialized technology training services to children in governmental care or who receive government assistance federal or state funded. His passion has always been to ensure that all children have a chance to succeed. The mission of Instructional Access is as meaningful today as when it was established more than 18 years ago. Steve is married to his wife Peggy and between them they have 7 children and 5 grandchildren. Steve was a foster parent for several years and adopted 3 of his children as his own. Three of seven currently live in southern California. Two are living in Michigan and one in Oklahoma. Tragically, Peggy’s oldest son passed away in a fatal automobile accident in 1999. Steve and Peggy moved to Lake Elsinore in 2015. Hoping to settle into a community where they could be a part of a vibrant, growing and place to work and live. Steve quickly became involved in his Homeowners Association by forming and chairing the Community Events committee. His intension was to run for HOA board but when he saw the stagnation in building projects within the city and talking with families that have lived here for several years and the frustration they felt about all of the growth that has gone on around them, he seized the opportunity to get more involved in the city affairs by becoming a candidate for city council.
“I believe I have the experience, background and skills necessary to help Lake Elsinore turn its visions into realities”

I wanted to say thank you to the 3653 that voted for me during this election. What an amazing experience it was to run for city council for the first time. I was honored to meet so many great people in our community due to walking neighborhoods and the events that people had in their homes to support me. Thank you Lake Elsinore for your generosity and encouragement.
Congratulations all of the individuals that did win their seats in 2016.

Five roundabout at Railroad Canyon and 15 intersection. That's what City Council supports and voted for. They actually believe that five round-abouts at that major intersection is a good idea. Many citizens spoke against the proposal, but we're not listened to. As usual they always knows best.
They just approved a huge sports complex on Diamond/Rail Road Canyon Rd with no improvements to any of these intersections, WHAT?

The state of California Transportation Department vetoed the idea, fortunately.

We cannot afford four more years by this city Council.

Please vote for Steve Martin and I will change the status quo.

Steve Manos - "Elections are a vanity effort"
City Councilman calls for a different view on a another facebook group
"Steve Manos I'd like to hear the other side.
I haven't heard much from any of the challengers. Setting aside the Castle & Cooke issue, I would love to hear why they are running.
Actually, I'm a little disappointed that they decided to run and have done nothing beyond a candidate statement, a page, and a website. If there were no challengers we could've skipped the election the City would've saved about $50,000, which we were half hoping to program into another City improvement. My message to the challengers in the future is that if you're going to do this then at least bring some heat. Otherwise you're just wasting a lot of taxpayer dollars on a vanity effort."

My Response to Mr Manos -
The right and privilege to vote is the cornerstone of our republic and I believe that it's worth $2.30 ($50,000 / 21,694) per registered voter for the City of Lake Elsinore to have a choice. The vanity effort is yours, thinking that you and the current city council are the only ones who have the best interest of its citizens. How vain is that!
Whether you wish to believe it or not Steve, not everyone in the city thinks the current council is doing such a great job. The city has a lot of issues that it faces and has faced in the past with no apparent improvement unless a citizen raises their voice loud enough for the city to take action which is a very reactionary position for a council to take. I believe that being proactive and setting the rules and having the city be accountable for its decisions is the right way to govern. Be it right or wrong. Take credit for the good and accept responsibility for the bad. Learn and correct your mistakes and move on. Basics and fundamental planning is something that every business does on a regular basis. I don't see that self-evaluation from the current council. It's more about patting each other on the back for doing just enough to please a few. I see no diversity on the council, unanimous decisions to me is not a sign of a good governing, it shows me that no one thinks for themselves or is afraid of bucking the status quo. With that kind of attitude, little or nothing gets done and excuses abound which is what I see happening currently.
One major issue that has yet to be addressed is the 115 KV electrical towers that will be running through our city to supply power to the new development north of us. Why was that not stopped in its tracks at the CPUC meeting in July? And why is there nothing being done about it now? Why is there no discussion regarding the regular maintenance of trash in the city, why did the residents of Rosetta Canyon not have a say on how the park should be built and why did you use Rosetta Canyon CFD funds to build a REGIONAL sports park to attract large venues in the Rosetta Canyon neighborhood? Should not that money have been given back to the residents of Rosetta Canyon lowering their payments substantially? Why did the city decide to keep the lion share of the CFD’s and only give back a small portion to its citizens and then publically say “look at what a good thing we did for you.”
In conclusion, you claim that 50,000.00 to have a choice in an election is a waste, how many tax dollars has the current council wasted in the past four years and do you have a plan to change it or is it just going to be more of the same?

Lake Elsinore cannot afford four more years of the current city Council leadership. You know there has been no growth of the city in the last eight years. Who is responsible for that lack of growth? The current city Council.

Please vote for Steve Martin and I will change the status quo.

Many development projects are approved by the current city Council in Lake Elsinore. Most have conditions of approval that prevent the businesses from actually building. Think about how many of these have actually come to fruition.

*La Quinta Inn, approved over a year ago. Now the property is for sale.
*Circle K gas station on Riverside drive was approved two years ago and has never been built.
*Kumar gas station on Main Street downtown. Approved over a year ago to rebuild, and yet nothing has occurred.

Yet in the same time frame over the last two years the cities surrounding Lake Elsinore have opened many new businesses. Our citizens are required to travel to other cities for many amenities. The tax dollar leakage must stop.

Please vote Steve Martin and I will change the status quo.

Running a campaign on small donors is humbling. I have my signs out, and hope you share with your friends, family and associates.

Making signs to go up around town tonight with some fantastic supporters.

We need jobs… Good paying local jobs that people can earn a decent wage and live and grow their families here. Commuting to work is something that needs to be eliminated. The only way to do this is to seek out industries that need a skilled workforce and invite them to build in Lake Elsinore.

Education
I believe that education is a necessary component for any community that wishes to excel and prosper. That is why I will work with Local Educational Agencies to promote high standards and insure that we have the educational institutions necessary to accomplish this goal.

Economy
I will partner with the Chamber of Commerce and business leaders to create a vibrant and strong local economy. As an entrepreneur and business owner who has worked with government agencies for over 20 years, I know how painful government bureaucracy can be. We must cut the red tape and bring efficient and complete time lines so sole proprietor businesses, large and small developers, industry leaders and other stakeholders can count on their establishments opening on time and as planned.
