The Village of Lake George is honored to welcome firefighters and their families from across the region for the 137th Annual Hudson Valley Volunteer Firemen's Association Convention!

Please note there will be parades and road closures as part of this event.

Block Party begins at 5 p.m. on Beach Road at the south end of the lake

๐Ÿš’ Dress Parade lineup begins at 11 a.m. with a 1 p.m. step-off
๐Ÿ“ The parade will form on streets feeding into Canada Street at the north end of the Village and proceed south on Canada Street before turning left onto Beach Road, ending near the Lake George Steamboat Company.

To accommodate the Dress Parade, manned barricades will be in place at:
โ€ข McGillis Avenue & Ottawa Street
โ€ข Iroquois Street & Montcalm Street
โ€ข Amherst Street & Iroquois Street
โ€ข Old Post Road & Mountain Drive
โ€ข Maple Street & Canada Street
โ€ข Bradley Street & Canada Street

Local traffic will be permitted through barricades in specific circumstances, including:
โœ”๏ธ Residents accessing their homes
โœ”๏ธ Employees traveling to or from work
โœ”๏ธ Postal service personnel
โœ”๏ธ Patrons visiting a specific business
โœ”๏ธ Motel guests who can present a room key

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ The Village of Lake George was honored to dedicate Ben Osborn Boulevard in memory of Corporal Benjamin D. Osborn, a 2002 Lake George graduate who gave his life while serving our nation during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2010 at the age of 27.

The ceremony brought together family, friends, veterans, students, and community members to celebrate Benโ€™s life, service, and enduring legacy. We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended and helped make this tribute so meaningful.

๐ŸŽฅ Watch to hear remarks from Mayor Ray Perry and Benโ€™s father, William Osborn, founder of the Ben Osborn Memorial Fund. You'll also hear beautiful performances by the Lake George High School Chorus and Jazz Band.

LAKE GEORGE SMALL PROJECT FUND - PUBLIC MEETING

The Small Project Fund is helping bring new energy to downtown Lake George. As a key part of the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI), this program supports community-focused improvements that make downtown more vibrant, welcoming, and economically strong. At the Public Meeting, the Town, Village and the Lake George - Lake Champlain Regional Planning Board will discuss the program requirements, the application process, and the timeline of the program.

Through targeted financial assistance, the fund empowers local property owners and businesses to invest in projects that enhance both the appearance and functionality of their spaces. Eligible improvements include storefront and faรงade upgrades, code compliance improvements, weatherization projects, and other enhancements that contribute to a thriving downtown environment.

By supporting small-scale projects with big community impact, the Small Project Fund is helping preserve the character of Lake George while encouraging investment, supporting local businesses, and creating a more attractive experience for residents and visitors alike.

The portion of Mountain Drive connecting Canada Street and Ottawa Street has been renamed in memory of Ben, a 2002 Lake George graduate who gave his life while serving our nation during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2010 at the age of 27.

Ben was known for his sense of humor, adventurous spirit, devotion to family and friends, and selfless service to his country. His legacy continues through the Ben Osborn Memorial Fund, which has provided scholarships, school supplies, tutoring, winter clothing, musical instruments, and other support to local youth since 2010.

Please join us as we come together to honor a hometown hero and the lasting impact he continues to have on our community.
