Students in the OCEAN program recently completed their first unit on coding and computer programming! During the unit, they explored systems, problem-solving, and troubleshooting while designing and testing systems of their own.

Using a variety of materials, students worked within one simple parameter: “Get the ball from one point to another.” They demonstrated creativity as they designed processes, created unique pathways, selected materials, and tested their ideas.

Along the way, students discovered an important lesson in engineering and problem-solving: sometimes simple is better! They also learned that successful systems require repeated testing and adjustments to ensure they work consistently.

This unit provided a wonderful opportunity for our OCEAN students to practice creativity, critical thinking, perseverance, and problem-solving!
